Traveling around Texas!

At 6 months, Jack started all his travels! It seems like almost every weekend we were packing up and heading somewhere in the great state of Texas! Jack is a great traveler and although it takes a lot to get him packed up, he's a pretty low maintenance kiddo. He does great in the car and sleeps like a champ in his car seat!

We headed out to New Braunfels to visit "GG's place" for the first time. It was a quick trip but, we made it out to the gristmill and enjoyed playing with Bess, Kami, Bryce, Taylor and Sloane. Jack couldn't take his eyes off the girls. He loves those sweet cousins! Jack would rather play with the girls than nap. He just watches their every move! It's pretty cute. I hope as Jack gets bigger, he'll like playing with the girls even more!

I took Jack to his first "Morgan/Carter" family reunion. I think he was a hit! We drove out to Cleveland and had lunch with the family. Jack is named after my Meme's maiden name Carter. So, needless to say it was special to show him off for the first time to his kinfolk who share the name! He spent most of his time laughing with my Dad. He sometimes "clams" up when we're out in public. I think he's just taking everything in. But, when my dad is around even when he's acting shy, he'll ham it up for my dad and try to get him to laugh and goof off with him. I guess that's what's grandad's are for!

We also went to a family reunion with Derek's dad's side of the family. We went to a lake house off LBJ in Austin for the weekend. This was the first time for Jack to meet this side of the family. He did great traveling and everyone was happy to meet him I think. The house we stayed at was right off the lake and also had a pool. We brought Jack's swimsuit and his gear as this would be his first swimming attempt...he LOVED it! It was pretty cute. He was so relaxed swimming in the hot tub. The pool was pretty cold so we put him in the hot tub which wasn't hot! Jack is the first boy on this side of the family so he was a hit! We took a photo of all the grandkids together and here's a shot of all the girl cousins. It was a great time of hanging out and visiting!

The last trip we made around Texas was out to the hill country to watch Lauren ride the MS 150.
We stayed at my aunt and uncle's house in Round Top. We shuttled Lauren and her friends around to the ride and cheered her on. Lauren had been planning to ride so I wanted to take Jack to see her finish up the big ride. Jack loves Lauren. He is such a fan of her! We went out to see the big finish and take some pics of Lauren with her bike. Lauren did a great job riding the 150 miles from Houston to Austin. It was really awesome to see everyone out to show support for MS and finding a cure. We ate dinner at the yummy BBQ place Rudy's. Jack had his cereal, veggies and some banana pudding. He loves that stuff! He could barely concentrate on eating because his biggest buddies-Lauren and Grandad were close by...he just has to make faces at them and laugh. He can hardly stand it! Maybe next year he can ride the MS 150 with Lauren to keep her company!
